behind the music:r/tistique

We're absolutely thrilled to have you back on our label with your latest release 'Sacrifice'. It's a fantastic addition to our growing catalog, and we're super excited about it!

Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind the tracks and what you were hoping to convey with this single?

My latest release "Sacrifice" conveys a rather dark side of my music about periods in my life when I have struggled in the past. Forgetting past events and accepting this is the core emotion of this EP.

What typically sparks your creative process? Do you have any particular techniques or routines that you use to kick-start a new project?

I do have a template to work from for my drums so I can start creating faster. In terms of drums I sometimes use a perc or top loop to find a groove more easily. With synths and sound design I don’t have a particular routine. I'd like to go crazy with chords and scales or finding the right rhythm so the sound matches good with the drums.

Which artists or genres have influenced your music the most?

Progressive and melodic for sure. I like energy in electronic music with a good groove but also deep and thought out melodies. Artists that have influenced my music are Wielki, Paradoks, Moritz Hofbauer etc. Not many really big ones but I have to name one: Stephan Bodzin.

What Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) do you use for your productions, and why did you choose it?

I use Reason Studios for a pretty long time. For the past five years, I started to take it more seriously and I like it. I like the sound design possibilities you can do in Reason, there is much to discover in that area.

Every producer has their go-to plugins that they can't live without. What's one VST plugin that's become an essential part of your production toolkit, and how do you use it to shape your sound?

I like the synchronous effect modulator from Reason. This modulation plugin has the power to create really cool effects to your sounds. I also like the Echo Boy from Soundtoys as a delay and Fabfilter Saturn 2 for distortion to name a few.

Sync Forward has a diverse catalog of releases, covering a wide range of sounds and styles. Is there another track from our label that you feel a particular affinity with, and why does it resonate with you?

The track "Oblivion" from ODDR has a certain feeling that really resonates with me. It has some very sick vocals and those bombastic sounds that I really like.
